    The Harrison Post reminded me

Me, my brother and a friend had a conversation not too long ago... Who do you think could be the easiest to overcome as an ELITE athlete of their respective sport..

i mean of course in basketball Jordan is considered the best.. do you think it would be easier for someone to come into the NBA and be better than Jordan... or do you think it would be easier for someone to come into the NFL and be better than Jerry Rice.. Or Laurence (SP??) Taylor..

basically what i want to know is which person do you see losing their top notch status first??? from which sport??

Jordan is the most overated and overhyped sports figure in history.

i dont agree with you on this.. he revolutionized the game.. he brought a whole generation into the game and made them fans.. made them want to play and be like him.. Jordan in my opinion is the best man to ever step foot on a court.. BUT with that being said.. i think that he would also be the easiest for someone to knock off.. LeBron is an AMAZING talent.. though i dont think he will ever be as good or as popular as Jordan.. i think that eventually someone will come into the game and change the way its played again just like MJ did.

so did Dr. J. in Dr.J's time, (for those who remember) he changed the game, playing "above the rim" many said hey would never be someone like him, then along comes MJ, well you know what, 20 years from now, Lebron will be on the same level if not higher, MJ was great, most likely the greatest to play AS OF YET. I believe both Kobe and Lebron will pass Jordans status.

Im sorry vthokie, its my opinion with valid points that go back farther than Bulls vs Blazers on Super Nintendo.

Larry Bird is the greatest Basketball player of all time. The man was not only great, but made great players out of mediocre teammates, ie. Ainge, DJ,etc. Of course, Bird played back when it was still basketball...nowadays, its street ball. I gave up watching this sideshow they call the NBA years ago. If you wanna see real basketball, go back to the days of Bird, Magic, Dominique, Kareem and a young Jordan....watch a few tapes. Take those 5 against any 5 today and they would stomp em.

clayman and shooter mad good points, but even if a way better player than Jordan comes to the NBA, he will never be as popular unless he wins championships. Thats the very reason Jordan and The Bulls are considered greats, even though Jordan did play for and owned the wisards, but no one really cares about that, because that team didn't win a championship.
